Information for G7 Parents
The main aim of this page is to provide a two-way channel of communication to reinforce the parent-teacher partnership to help your son successfully through Grade 7 Science.

I believe that Middle School (and especially Grade 7) is the last point at which we can successfully influence a child and they are at their most receptive point for intellectual and moral reasoning. It is a time to inculcate middle school students with the values and skills for handling life in adulthood.

The course is structured to provide, in addition to scientific literacy, the following :
Grade 7 Science is tough, but not impossible. Students will tackle new ideas, push themselves to grow and learn new information. They are expected to work hard consistently throughout the year. The course is challenging and rewarding for those students who understand the value of scientific literacy in their lives.
We recommend all students finish any homework early and get a good night's sleep during the week. We also recommend limiting the amount of technology use in the evenings.
In particular, the aim is to :
- inform you of your son's science instruction and assessment so you can make appropriate academic decisions for him;
- inform you so that you can support your son in his studies i.e. gathering information and resources, interpreting directions and evaluations, arranging tutoring, after-school help, etc.
- help you in planning your family weekends and monthly calendar.
