Course overview
The main theme in Grade 7 Science is the diminutive: the smallest unit of matter is the atom and the smallest unit of life is the cell. A deep understanding of atoms and cells is the basis of much of science. Students will learn about the structure of atoms and cells and see how they are a part of everything that exists in the universe.
Throughout the year, students will explore the Nature of Science and become familiar with the Scientific Method. Both will be incorporated within the course as a whole. Semester one: 1. The structure and properties of matter (chemistry) 2. Electricity and Electronics (physics) Semester two: 3. Diversity of life 4. Cell biology 5. Structure and organization of living things |
